  • Quotes (5)

    • Jamie: You're gonna go to the wedding without pants on? Paul: You know, why not? Let's see who the best man really is.

    • Jamie: Aww, she looks beautiful, doesn't she? Paul: Sure. Jamie: Just the way a bride should look. Paul: Yep, well, you were much prettier. Jamie: Good for you.

    • Paul: So you're saying it was the toaster?

    • Paul: So why didn't you tell me 2 years ago? Jamie: If I did, would we be sitting here now? Paul: Yes! Jamie: I'm not so sure. Paul: So now we'll never know.

    • Jamie: Come here, look at you! (she ties Paul's tie) What? (pause) What are you staring at? Paul: I'm admiring a beautiful girl who married me for some reason. Jamie: (pause) All right! Give them the nut-pick!

    Notes (4)

    • First appearance of John Pankow playing Ira Buchman, Paul's cousin. His role in the first season is recurring, but from season two he becomes a regular until the end of the show.

    • Richard Kind (Mark Devanow), Leila Kenzle (Fran Devanow), and Anne Elizabeth Ramsay (Lisa Stemple) do not appear in this episode, although they are credited in the opening credits.

    • During the episode, Ira's band plays "Alley Cat," and Paul and Jamie dance to it. Later they play Ray Anthony's "The Bunny Hop," and Paul and Jamie are in a line of people dancing to it. Instead of the normal music over the end credits, "Alley Cat" is playing and the whole wedding party is dancing to it. Paul can be overheard saying (perhaps out of character) "Dancing is a challenge for me."

    • Beginning with this episode, "Mad About You" time slot moves to Saturdays at 08:00 p.m.
