    • (BJ has expressed his disappointment that Hawkeye is dating a married woman) Hawkeye: Ever checked in somewhere without a toothbrush? BJ: Never. Hawkeye: Never been tempted? BJ: Tempted's another subject. Hawkeye: Ah, you have been tempted. BJ: Never. But it's another subject.

    • Hawkeye (to BJ, imitating Groucho Marx): Tell our first couple what else they've won, Fenneman. BJ (offering Welcome Wagon trinkets from a box to Carlye & Becky): This bar of soap...from those who'll be working closely with you in O. R. Please use at least once a week. Hawkeye (pulling a bottle of shampoo out of the box): Shampoo. BJ: Because we couldn't find any real poo.

    • Carlye (to Hawkeye): Look at yourself! Look where you are! You're trapped! You just proposed yourself into a corner! Hawkeye: So? However I did it, I did it. Carlye: You didn't propose to me, you proposed to yourself! Hawkeye: Well, I wanted to try it out on me first.

    • Hawkeye: Bored. BJ: So bored. Hawkeye: So bored it's boring. BJ: Boring-a-ding-ding. Hawkeye: Boronus, boretis, boremus. I came, I saw, I bored. BJ: He bored, she bored, they bored. Hawkeye: All aboard. BJ: I was going to say that.

    • Father Mulcahy: I'd like your permission to return these, sir. The quarter-master sent us a gross of new Bibles, and there seem to be quite a number of typographical errors. Colonel Potter: Oh? Father Mulcahy: Uh, here's the first one. "Thou shalt commit adultery." Colonel Potter: Well, that's the new Army, Father. Father Mulcahy: Let's hope it's a typo. These lads are trained to take orders.
