Quotes (6)

  • Coop (ranting): Alright, you brainwashing alien creep! You try to grind us up, you enslaved a bunch of innocent robots, and now you’re making me late for spicy ham nuggets! I got one word for you, pal! Game over! Jamie and Kiva: Two words. Coop: Whatever!

  • Kiva: It appears this machine only works on robots with artificial intelligence. Coop: Ha, you can't do anything! Cause we don't got intelligence!

  • Robot Guard: They know better than to challenge us. Coop: Yeah, well I don't know better!

  • Robot Guard: Number twelve, why are you not working? Coop: My name is Coop; number twelve is my car's racing name.

  • Coop: Why don't you fly out of here? Robot: Fly? Coop: Yeah, you got that jetpack on your back. Robot: Fly? I remember! I can fly! I can fly! I can fly! (The robot begins to fly, though he gets shot down by a guard)

  • Coop: One mega-sized way out, coming right up!

Notes (9)

  • Peter Cullen provided the voice of Quarell, which is a little inside gag seeing as how he voices numerous sci-fi cartoon characters, the most famous being Optimus Prime of Transformers.

  • First time Coop actually doesn't destroy a planet. He says that they'll do it next time.

  • The weapons used by the robot guards are the Neutralizer used by Rom: Spaceknight, a Tonka action figure from the 80's that enjoyed a 75 issue run at Marvel Comics.

  • The 'cheat code' for the energy sword is ª« ª¨©«›¨©

  • The brainwashing "caretaker"'s name is Quarrel (sp?) as one of the guard robots referred to.

  • End credits: Megas and robot #23 face off but before either one could attack #23's prisoner programming kicks back in. He then happily prances off.

  • The big red button Coop hits this time says: "Hurt the good guys - I mean DON'T hurt the good guys

  • On the training sheet, when Jamie checks off "Hydrolic Stress Test," the next one is "Water Resistance," but spelled "Wter Resistance". Then when he goes to check it off, it's spelled right, "Water Resistance". PS: "Hydraulic Stress Test" is spelled wrong too.

Trivia (1)

  • Wouldn't it make more sense just to destroy and/or rebuild criminal robots?

Allusions (9)

  • Title of this episode (and general plot) is of course spoof of "Clockwork Orange", movie based on one of P. K. Dick books. In this picture evil and brutal criminal (played by Malcolm McDowell) is brought to prison where scientists try to "reprogram" his mind and want to make him a good guy. It didn't work after all.

  • N/A: N/A
Quarrel is voiced by Peter Cullen whom was the voice of the Narrator and King Alfor in the anime series Voltron. This is also the reference for the energy sword, which was also formed by bringing the two fists together and pulling them apart.

  • Coop: None
Instead of using the Button marked That Cool Energy Sword Thingy, Coop instead uses a combination of joystick movements and button combinations, just like various other fighting games out there.

  • N/A: N/A
The entire concept of the robots being held "captive" and programmed is similar to the old 1960's tv show The Prisoner, where each one is assigned as a number and meant to live in an eerily cheerful society like prison.

  • 32: "I am not a number. I am a free machine!"
This is to The Prisoner's catchphrase, "I am not a number, I am a free man."

  • N/A: N/A
The interrogation device (the orb-like device with many television-like monitors and probe with a lens) is similar to that used in the movie, 12 Monkeys.

  • 59: Tra la la la la! (While skipping with flowers)
Robot 59's shape is reminiscent of the guardian robot from Castle Laputa. This guardian was the caretaker of the castle -- including the flowers in the gardens.

  • Robot: I am not a number... I am a machine!
A play on a line from the intro to the classic British TV series "The Prisoner", where Number 6 protests "I am not a number, I am a free man!"
