    • Amon Amarth Movie veteran J. F. Amarth is named after the Swedish viking-themed melodic death metal band Amon Amarth.

    • Metal Bands The actors starring in the sitcom shown during the opening sequence are all references to metal bands. James Cronos could either be named after the lead singer of the legendary black metal band Venom, or a reference to the French death metal band Kronos; Valerie Vrangsinn is named after the bass player for the black metal band Carpathian Forest; and Lupe' Asesino is named after the death metal/grindcore band Asesino.

    • Burzum James Grishnackh, the name of studio head for the Blood Ocean film, is a reference to Count Grishnackh which was the pseudonym used by Varg Vikernes for his Norwegian black metal solo project Burzum.
