  • show Description
  • Mew Mew Power anime is based on one of Tokyopop's best selling Mangas and is now available in select stores. During her first date with the cutest boy in school, Zoey Hanson is zapped by a mysterious ray that scrambles her DNA with that of the endangered Iriomote wildcat. The next day, Zoey discovers that she has developed the agility (and occasionally the ears and tail) of a cat, as well as the power to transform into a pink-haired superheroine. She and four other girls, each endowed with the genes of a different "Red Data" animal, have been selected for the Mew Mew Project, a top-secret project that aims to protect the Earth from an alien menace. • No Predacytes are used in this episode, the thing that Zoey fought in her dream was a drawing of something that resembles Godzilla.

    • 4-Kids orignally named the show "Hollywood Mew Mew."

    • This episode centers around the whole team and Mark.

    • The American opening made by 4kids entertainment uses some scenes from both Studio Pierrot Openings but in a different order. 4Kids Entertainment's American Opening (http://www.4kidsentertainment.com/videos/show_opening.php?show_opening=mewmew&rez=hi) (Quicktime Required) Studio Pierrot's Japanese Opening Version One (http://www.pummeldex.de/data/files/downloads/TokyoMewMew-Opening1.wmv) (Windows Media Player Required) Studio Pierrot's Japanese Opening Version Two (http://www.pummeldex.de/data/files/downloads/TokyoMewMew-Opening2.wmv) (Windows Media Player Required)

    • This episode should have been episode 12.

    • Originally, instead of Dren offering Zoey a chance to live if she agreed to marry him. It was that Dren was going to kill Zoey, with no sign of remorse in the original version. But when she scratches him across the face, he's impressed and decides to save her.

    • This episode had a chance of airing September 4, 2004 at 9:00 AM, in a promo known as the "You Say It, We Play It" morning where viewers could vote for this, F-Zero: GP Legend, or One Piece. Mew Mew Power and One Piece were almost neck and neck, and it seemed one of them was going to win, but somehow, possibly due to a rigging, F-Zero: GP Legend won.

    Trivia (45)

    • The dub screws up the ending, otherwise the surprise. In the original, Aoyama notices Mew Ichigo, and asks, "Ichigo?". But in the dub, Mark finds Zoey's true identity, but he keeps cool with it. He was supposed to know Zoey's secret in Episode 38!

    • In the original, at the end of the episode, it ends with Ichigo and Masaya staring at one another, Masaya calls her name but is unsure if it's Ichigo or not. In this episode, Mark discovers Zoey's identity WAY TOO early.

    • When Zoey looked in the mirrior for a zit check, she had that bump onher nose and it was very clear, but when you see her later int he scene looking in her refection at a window in a store, you can't see the zit if you loook close at her face.

    • After Zoey gets all nuts over a fish, she backs up and puts her lunch tray on her desk, and she says "I think I'll go eat outside!"

    • "Okay, zit check. It's still there! Stupid lying acne cream! 24 hours guaranteed, yeah right!" ...That little mark on her nose? Yeah, that was from her falling out of bed and hitting it.

    • Near the middle of the episode, Zoey asks herself what happened on Saturday (the day of the date), but earlier, she was at school and told her friends that she called Mark last night (i.e.: the same night as the date). How could be she be at school and have the date the day before, if that was on Saturday?

    • In Production Order, this is the first episode. It was originally supposed to air in September 2005 with "The Main Mew's Muse" acting as a sneak peek in February, but 4Kids TV decided to cancel The Cramp Twins and put this on instead.

    • In order to transform you need a power pendant, and Elliot and Wesey never gave Zoey one to give to the other Mew Mews, but then later Zoey throws Corina a power pendant.
