  • Fan Reviews (1)
  • Weak. The idea was good: make an episode where the mission is more personal, where you gotta save Mom {i really like her as a character, btw} instead of the World, or yourself. But then they botched it.

  • Trivia & Quotes
  • Quotes (2)

    • Max's Mom: I don't know, Virgil. Do you think Max is okay? Virgil: Oh, don't worry. I'm sure he'll be alright. I mean it's only a bloody thirsty eight-hundred pound gorilla wanting to tear him limb from limb. He's faced much worse. Max's Mom: Gee, thanks.

    • Max: I don't think my mom would understand if I became "Max of the Jungle."

    Notes (4)

    • Virgil's means of summoning: An airplane spells out a smoke message that says, "Max, go to the library."

    • Educational epilogue: Gorillas.

    • A remark made by Norman, "This reminds me of that time with the Philistines," is meant to imply that he was the Biblical strongman Samson.

    • This episode shows Mighty Max is not your average cartoon show. Several humans are obviously killed by a spear barrage.

    Trivia (1)

    • When charging into the gorilla army, several of the humans are shown wielding stone maces. Where did they get those, if they were too scared of the gorillas to stand up to them until Max came along?

    Allusions (1)

    • Planet of the Apes This episode takes much inspiration from the film Planet of the Apes. Specifically, the idea of a society of talking apes who enslave humans that lack the ability to speak.
