  • Episode Description
  • The opera Windstorm in Bubbleland takes up the entire program. In it, a news team promises "There's never any trouble here in Bubbleland." What they don't know is that a windstorm is approaching. It's the by-product of a chemical company's aerosol spray. While all the residents are worried about their bubbles, Hildegarde Hummingbird strives to protect the people from the giant wind.

    Notes (4)

    • This was one of only 2 episodes where Fred did not sing the entire opening song, and did not sing any closing song at all. The other was "Grandparents (5)".

    • This was arguably the most technically-complex opera Rogers had ever staged.

    • Beginning and end captions only identify this program as Mister Rogers Makes an Opera. This is the only time the Mister Rogers' Neighborhood logo does not appear on the broadcast.

    • This was the only time in the series that Rogers didn't enter his house. He sat on the swing on his porch to introduce Windstorm in Bubbleland.
