    • In 2001, the U.S. government launched the National Nanotechnology Initiative, with an annual budget of nearly $500,000,000.

    • Today's auto engines are twice as efficient as engines of thirty years ago. They get twice the power out of the same amount of fuel - and put out half the amount of exhaust fumes.

    • The first electric motor driven appliance produced in the United States was an electric pen invented by Thomas Edison. It punched through the paper as it wrote, creating a stencil from which copies could be made.

    • In the early 1800's, a good hand weaver could produce 48 yards of cloth in a week. A weaver working at a steam loom could produce seven times as much.

    • Refering to the regenerative braking on the Toyota Prius the narrator states that it "creates energy". Energy of course cannot be created (nor destroyed).
