    • On June 21, 1943 the United States Supreme Court reversed itself, granting patent rights to Tesla, not Marconi for the invention of radio.

    • In 1898, Tesla invented the "Electrical Igniter for Gas Engines." Today it's used in more than 600 million cars worldwide, and is better known at the automobile ignition system.

    • In 1917 Tesla proposed the concept of radio waves reflecting off objects to determine position and speed. That was 17 years before the invention of radar.

    • In 1887 Tesla experimented with X-ray radiation. That was eight years before Wilhelm Roentgen documented his own X-ray discovery, which won Roentgen the Nobel Prize in physics.
