  • Quotes (9)

    • (looking through phone books) Earl: There’s a lot of Lester’s here, but I don’t see any Maggies. Randy: (points) There’s a Maggie! Earl: That’s a Maggie Larson, Randy. Randy: Oh! Both names have to be on the same line…

    • Darnell: Baby, I love that spray on, styling stuff. It makes your legs look hot and it makes me a little hot. Joy: And that’s exactly how I want the Public Defender to feel when I meet him today. I want him to think if he gets me off… I’ll return the favor.

    • Randy: Look at his hands Earl! They’re like lobsters! But without the rubber bands to stop him from biting us with his hands!

    • Earl: This burger’s delicious. William: Thank you. It’s black angus. Randy: I don’t think I can eat it, now that I know the cows name.

    • (staring at the horn in Kevin’s forehead) Randy: That’s pretty cool. Can you take your head on a plane? Kevin: Not since 9/11. We’re all making sacrifices.

    • Earl's Narration: Unfortunately for Maggie, Tom Selleck was the biggest star on TV and I was the biggest jerk in my class. Earl: Wow, look at the mustache on this girl! Hey look everybody, it's Maggie P.I.! A reference to the TV series Magnum, P.I. starring Tom Selleck as Thomas Magnum, the investigator with the famous mustache.

    • Earl: (about William) Check it out… he’s off to see the wizard! This is a reference to the 1939 movie “The Wizard of Oz”, based on the books by L. Frank Baum, as William is the same height as a Munchkin (a group of people from the story). Earl also indirectly refers to William as a Munchkin later on in the episode.

    • Catalina's childhood nickname "Chupa-Chup" refers to a popular brand of lollipops that originated in Spain in the late 1950's.

    • Earl: (in voiceover) And Tommy taught me how to ride a skateboard without falling off and scraping my knees. This is a joke given that Jason Lee used to be a champion skateboarder in his younger days.
