  • An interesting episode - but it was lacking something I've come to expect from NCIS (SPOILERS)

  • Trivia & Quotes
  • Quotes (7)

    • Ziva: Look I dislike him just as much as you do. Tony: Oh really?! He tried to kill me, he blew up my car. Ziva: I'm sure he had his reasons.

    • Tony: Ah, we're taking tips from Trent Kort. Why don't we just run with scissors or talk to strangers. Maybe I got some candy. Kort: Go to hell, DiNozzo. Tony: Feels like we're half way there.

    • Ducky: We need a connection. Gibbs: Horse manure. Ducky: Horse manure?

    • Kort: Gibbs, what motivation would I ever have to mislead you? (Gibbs just gives him a look) I respect that you're suspicious, caution is an asset in our line of work. Trust is elusive, at best. Gibbs: No it's not, not between us- it's impossible. But I honor my debts.

    • McGee: (concerned when he learns that Gibbs is late for work) He lives alone, maybe something happened to him. No one would know. Tony: (in an "anchorman" voice) In a tragic story of obsessive hobbying turned deadly, an NCIS Agent was discovered in his basement crushed between a large, homemade boat and an even larger bottle of bourbon. Film at eleven!

    Trivia (4)

    • GOOF: When close ups of the NCIS Wall have been shown in the past, Jonathan Siravo was not shown until this episode despite Tony saying that he has see it every day. Also this episode shows that Former Petty Officer Roland Alan Moore was caught as red tape is shown over his name on the NCIS wall. He was first mentioned in episode "Terminal Leave."

    • TRIVIA: Tony quite surprisingly missed out on a perfect opportunity for a movie reference. When Kort suggests that the two dead shooters at the construction site was the result of a "...double suicide pact... secret lovers", Tony should have pointed out that this explanation was just as bogus in the cult classic film Heathers as it was in this instance. In Heathers, Winona Ryder's character convinces two members of the football team that she wanted to have sex with them at the same time, but once they had stripped Christian Slater's character came out of hiding, shot and killed them, then left a fake suicide note stating that they had killed each other because they could no longer live hiding the fact that they were gay lovers. In Tony's defense, however, his antagonism to Kort would explain why he was off his game enough to miss seeing the obvious parallel.

    • TRIVIA: In the scene where Tony and Ziva are looking at the "N.C.I.S. Most Wanted" wall of wanted fugitives, a photo of real-life F.B.I. Most Wanted fugitive Robert William Fisher is shown, with a horizontal red line across the picture, indicating he has been caught. This is not true, as Robert William Fisher is still one of the F.B.I.'s Ten Most Wanted, and has not been apprehended or declared to be deceased.

    • GOOF: When McGee checks to see if Gibbs' cell phone is on, Gibbs' name appears in the list as "Gibbs, Jethro Leroy". Actually, Gibbs' first name is Leroy and his middle name is Jethro, not the other way around. Additionally, Gibbs is the only one in the list with a middle name listed. And finally, when McGee tracks the cell phone with his computer a window pops over the map up reading "J. Leroy Gibbs" as the subject of the trace!

    Allusions (2)

    • Kort: Yes, we can. Kort is quoting Obama's slogan during the 2008 presidential election campaign.

    • Kort: How about that favor you owe me? Kort is referring to episode 6x13 "Broken Bird." Gibbs contacts Kort to get Ducky's file to find out why Ducky was attacked. In addition to supplying Gibbs with Ducky's file, Kort also gives him Vance's file. Kort said he would call in the favor as he gave the files to Gibbs.
