    • SecNav Porter: (about the security breech) I'm getting hit on all sides with this, Pentagon, White House. Last thing anybody needs is another intel scandal, and NSA is prepared for this kind of threat.
Vance: So are we, Madam Secretary.
SecNav Porter: And I want you to keep up the good work, Leon. I'm not benching you, I'm just adding more players to the game.
Vance: Different players have different strengths.
SecNav Porter: Yes, and as head coach, I have the lineup just the way I want it, Director.

    • Vance: I thought you searched everyone, Agent DiNozzo.
Tony: I didn't think you wanted me to pat down the United States Secretary of the Navy, sir.
      Vance: Well, I do now.
Tony: Uh, raise your arms, please, ma'am. Just remember, I have mouths to feed. Two goldfish. I'm their only source of income, and they're-they're awfully cute.
SecNav Porter: Relax, DiNozzo. I'm as anxious about this as you are.

    Notes (2)

    • Original International Airdates:
Finland: August 5, 2014 on Nelonen

    • Emily Wickersham first appears as NSA Agent Eleanor 'Ellie' Bishop. She was promoted to series regular prior to the airing of this episode, but is still listed as guest star due to her initial 3-episodes guest starring deal.

    Trivia (1)

    • When Bishop uses her car to stop a fleeing suspect, Tony tells Gibbs that she "pulled a Palmer."  This is an allusion to episode 5x17 "About Face", wherein Palmer broad-sided a fleeing suspect's pickup truck with his own SUV.

Sorry, but the new character just doesn't do it for me. She didn't fit in and the way she was forced down our throats (like that was going to help) only made me like her less. She reminded me of that horrible Rachel Nichols' character they brought in on CM. Wrong move, CBS!

    • grizzo Nov 24, 2013

I loved "she pulled a Palmer"! I am actually looking forward to this chick!

I think the episode should have been titled Gut Clench instead, because that is what mine did the entire episode. Just plain horrible. TPTB actually thought we'd like the new character so much they hired her as a regular before seeing how fans felt?! Talk about stupid. The new character sucks. She is more annoying than Kate. And for those who keep watching NCIS out of some kind of misguided loyalty, even though you no longer like it, keep this in mind-TPTB only care about ratings, not what fans like or don't like. As long as you continue to watch, TPTB will do whatever they please. The only way to make them listen is NOT to watch. NCIS will continue to go downhill as long as people continue to watch the show even if they no longer like it.

It's one thing to sit on the floor and listen to music in your private office, completely another in a public one. I don't know of a single government agency that would permit on of their employees to do so. It presents an unprofessional appearance to the public.

I can understand wanting Bishop to be different from Ziva. But I think they are trying too hard. It would make more sense to reveal her quirks slowly, not all at once. Because they way they did it in this episode make her appear kooky rather than quirky.

The NSA and NCIS buildings Bishop was in are not open to the public and its a TV show and quirky is a synonym of kooky.

    • lynna12000 Nov 24, 2013

Those buildings may not be public, but they do have professional standards. My parents were both military. Despite being long time fans, they were VERY surprised at that quirk.

NCIS may not wear uniforms, and it employs civilians, but it is, at heart a military organization. Doing what Bishop was doing, in a public area (area shared with co-workers), is in NO way professional.

I have different definition of quirk. A quirk is a small, odd habit; i.e questionable musical taste, or the habit of not wearing socks.

I like the new Siva - I even could imagine her being even better funnier and cooler than the old siva....there...I said it...

You can't spell the old character's name despite it being all over the web.
