  • At the end of every episode except this one and the final episode, when the MTM logo forms, the cat says "meow" in Bob Newhart's voice. In this debut episode the cat does the regular "meow" while in the final show that cat yells "QUIET!!" the one and only word ever spoken by the two Darryl Brothers in the series finale.

    It should also be noted that this season was shot on videotape while the rest of the seasons were shot on film. However the series finale "curtain call" reverted back to videotape, possibly to give it a "live" look.

  • This episode marks the first appearence of Larry, Darryl and Darryl and their business "Anything For a Buck" in which they'll do....anything for a buck. Guest stars in this episode, they appear from time to time in the first two seasons but they won't become full-time regulars until the third season premiere episode "Tell a Lie, Get a Check" in which Kirk sells them the Minuteman Cafe.

  • At the time of the episode Bill Quinn was Bob Newhart's father-in-law.

  • When Dick gets depressed for being denied the Stratford being designated an historic landmark, he ends up watching his "favorite show" using an earphone. When Joanna pulls the earphone out the theme to The Bob Newhart Show starts playing. Joanna quips, "Your favorite show is a rerun?"

  • Final appearance of Jennifer Holmes as Leslie Vanderkellen.  In the first episode of season two, her cousin Stephanie reveals that she has moved to Oxford, England to finish her studies.
