A nasty TV personality finds that her diary entries record, not the past, but the future.
This rather ingenious story is done concisely and with just the right amount of understatement. It's unsettling rather than in-your-face shocking, and better for it. Patty Duke, as the obnoxious TV presenter, is just right - she may well remind viewers of several real TV figures! It's also good to see Virginia Mayo, still glamorous at 50, in the brief but very effective role of an actress who, facing ruin because of the TV star's nastiness, gives her the diary as a last gesture before committing suicide. It's a pity Ms. Mayo's not on screen longer, but she makes the most of it.moreless
