  • Episode Description
  • Time period: June 1861 - July 21, 1861. Orry and Charles leave for the war in Virginia as officers in the Confederate Army, while George and Billy are officers in the US Army. With Orry gone to war, Justin kidnaps Madeline hurting Orry's mother in the process. Ashton becomes lover of a smuggler called Elkanah Bent.

    • Goof: Charles and his partner in the scouting mission kill 2 out of the 6 yankee men who were trying to give chase to Augusta. However, when the yankees decide to retreat, the 6 of them can be seen galloping away.

    • The Yankee army (40,000) duplicated in number the Confederate army (22,000).

    • Goof: When George and Constance's leave the Manassas battlefield, she is seen holding the reins but the second after that, she is sat behind George who is now holding the reins.

    • Clarissa only notices about the fire in the barn when an explosion occurs. However, the men's shouts are clearly heard from her room.
