  • The Pearl Bailey Show, hosted by the multi-talented songstress Pearl Bailey was a musical variety show lasting only five months. A Cooper-Finkel Company production in association with the Pearl Bailey Production Corporation. Pearl Bailey and her husband, drummer Louis Bellson, conductor of the Orchestra for the show, along with the Robert Sidney Dancers and the Allan Davies Singers performed a variety of musical entertainment.     • During the closing ballad "Mama, a Rainbow" a momentary sound goof occured when Pearl accidently hit the mike she was wearing when she made a spontaneous gesture. Louis Bellson, the musical director and her husband said, "But the take was such perfect Pearl, we decided to let it go with the moment of bad sound".

    • Sergio Mendes forgot the Portuguese lyrics to Girl From Ipanema during rehearsal when he was performing with Pearl. She told him, "Say anything honey, who'll know the difference?"

    • George Kirby was trying to outdo Flip Wilson's Geraldine impersonation, by doing Pearlie Mae.

    • Gregory Peck, who requested that he dance because he didn't want to stand around like a "bump on a log." However his dancing wasn't too good so it was cut.

    • Pearl and Ella entered amateur contests at the same time at the Harlem Opera House. Pearl entered the Harlem Opera House for the contest but Pearl was too late so she went to the Apollo and won. Ella won at the Harlem.

    • Miss Leontyne Price sung "I Love You Truly" at Pearl's wedding to Louis Bellson in 1952.
