    • George: He was a degenerate gambler, and it got him killed. You had better learn to accept that, Annie.
Annie: I do. But I also remember that Sean was the sweetest guy in the world until the day he started working for you. So degenerate or not, I’ll always miss him. I wonder who’s gonna miss you when you’re gone, George?

    • Reese: Are you saying we should protect Annie but not Riley?
Finch: I'm just saying you might not want to put yourself and her at risk for a man like that. He's a killer, Mr. Reese.
      Reese: So was I, Finch.
Finch: I think there's a distinction to be made.
Reese: Not as much as you think.

    • Carter: Detective Szymanski. It's good to see you back on active duty.
Szymanski: You know, I thought about dying but realized I couldn't afford it on a detective's salary.

    • Riley: You've got a detective in your pocket?
Reese: More like on my back.

    • Reese: Earlier, what did you mean when you said "bad code"?
Finch: It means a flawed design. The term applies to machines, not people. We have the ability to change, evolve.
      Reese: Even killers.

Gotta say, it's more than a little disturbing that Mr. Finch actually referred to someone as being "bad code." Is this a sign of Mr. Finch possibly being lured over to the dark side? Only time will tell, I suppose.

If they were to pick and choose who they save and who they don't, it would be like playing God.

This week's episode reveals a client who works for the mob. Are all clients worthy of saving?

    • Gislef Oct 28, 2012

Except at the end, Finch acknowledged that he was wrong and that humans aren't machines, and can evolve.

A very good question brought up by this episode. I think that's what they're getting at this season - that Reese and Finch are going to start drifting apart according to their ideals, as modeled by Finch's lack of concern for Riley and Reese's steadfast worry for the man.

Great question, nilla. I vote Yes because had Reese's # came up before Finch new him, he might not have saved him. A common thread in POI is, "everyone deserves a second chance." I'll stick with that for now.
