  • Something Wicked Has Washed Ashore... Something wicked this way comes to Point Pleasant, a usually quiet New Jersey beach town, when a sudden, violent storm washes in more than the tide. After local lifeguard JESSE PARKER (Sam Page) sees the beautiful CHRISTINA NICKSON (Elisabeth Harnois) floating in the ocean, he dives into the dangerous waters to save her life and bring her to safety. Little does Jesse know that his heroic rescue heralds the beginning of a battle between good and evil. Jesse brings Christina to the home of DR. BEN (Richard Burgi) and MEG KRAMER (Susan Walters), whose reclusive daughter JUDY (Aubrey Dollar) takes an instant liking to their new houseguest. The Kramers have seen their share of hardship – their youngest daughter passed away a couple of years ago – and Christina appears to bring light back into their house. For Christina, Point Pleasant offers both a respite from her protected boarding-school existence in New York, and the opportunity to search for her long-lost mother, a Point Pleasant native. Unbeknownst to Christina, her arrival in Point Pleasant has a profound effect on the small seaside community. Her presence awakens repressed feelings, unlocks suppressed desires and heightens emotions among the residents. Tensions flare between Jesse and best friend TERRY BURKE (Brent Weber), who secretly pines for Jesse’s possessive girlfriend, PAULA HARGROVE (Cameron Richardson). Paula’s hot-to-trot mother, AMBER (Dina Meyer), attempts to rekindle her relationship with the good Dr. Kramer, her childhood sweetheart. Even the strong love between Jesse’s parents, Police Captain LOGAN (Alex Carter) and church-going SARAH PARKER (Clare Carey), is tested, especially when the mysterious and charismatic LUCAS BOYD (Grant Show), a man with ties to Christina’s father, moves into town and begins to insinuate himself into Christina’s new life. As Christina and Jesse fight their budding attraction, Christina enlists Jesse’s help to search for answers to her family’s past, all the while trying to suppress the evil inside her – and the power that comes with it. While Christina never knew her mother, she will come to realize that she’s never known her “real” father, either. Christina is the offspring of a mortal woman and the Devil – and the battle for her soul has begun. Point Pleasant is a 20th Century Fox Television Production. Marti Noxon ("Angel,” “Buffy The Vampire Slayer”), Marty Adelstein, Dawn Parouse ("Tru Calling") and Neal Moritz serve as executive producers. Point Pleasant was canceled after eight airings, but the complete first season of thirteen episodes is now available on DVD.moreless

    • Jesse: Hey. Christina: Hey. Uh, I realized yesterday I never thanked you. Jesse: That's cool. You don't need to. So, you're still here? Judy: Okay, um, I'm going to bumper cars. You two enjoy another eye-looker party.

    • Christina: I feel like this is my chance, to finally understand. Harland: Understand what? Christina: My whole life. Something has been off with me. Like, like something's missing. And I think my mother can explain it. Listen, I'm not coming back until I find her.

    • Christina: Where am I? Judy: New Jersey. Point Pleasant.

    • (Judy is working in the gas station) Lucinda: You really work here? Judy: No. I volunteer. I like the shirt.

    • Lucas: She's the child of darkness, and she's under his protection now. She's his daughter. Kingston Nixon: She's also the daughter of a woman. That means she has a choice.

    • (reading from Father Jeffrey's papers) Father David: "And a young girl will come, and she will be the daughter of the beast. The streets will run with blood, and the world will know unspeakable horror and an age of death."

    • Lucas: You're like Tokyo worrying about the welfare of Godzilla.

    • (while in Jesse's car) Jesse: (to Christina) It's crazy. God, what are you doing to me?

    • When Jesse is giving Christina mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, the actor's eyeliner is running down his face from the sea-water. Next shot the runs have gone, and by the end the runs are back again.

    • Victim: Harland

    • The strange symbol in Christina's eye stands for 666 - the mark of the "beast" (Satan).

    • Seemingly all the sexual tension and fights are influenced by Christina's presence.

    • Harlan is killed by a swarm of bees. Bees have been used to symbolize evil and darkness, so they will probably appear frequently throughout the series.

    • This marks the first time the stained-glass window in the church is broken.

    • The church Christina goes to has also been used on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Most notably in the fourth season episode "Who Are You?". It also may be the same church featured in the Miracles pilot episode.

    • Point Pleasant succeeded in bringing in new viewers for FOX in the Thursday night death slot, beating the previous dramas Tru Calling and North Shore, due to heavy promotion by FOX. Except Tru Calling aired in the 8:00 timeslot instead of 9:00.

    • Boyd mentions that Point Pleasant will play host to the biggest war since the angels fell from heaven, referring to the battle in which Satan and his fellow angels were cast out of heaven.

    • A fish symbol can be seen on Jesse's truck, which is a popular religious symbol.

    • Lucas Boyd: It's always the quiet towns where the gruesome things happen. This may be a tribute to Buffy the Vampire Slayer. In Buffy, the characters live in a very small town, Sunnydale. Gruesome things always happen in this small town. This could be Marti paying a little tribute to her work on Buffy.

    • Seems as if the writers have either a lack of creating new names or are paying tribute to Buffy. In the ending montage, Boyd's new protégé is named Wes. Wesley was Buffy's watcher turned rouge demon hunter turned fang gang member.

    • The scene where Meg imagines Isabelle's hand reaching out from her grave and dragging her in, and the shower scene at the dance are both direct references to scenes in Carrie - the shower scene links to the opening scene of Carrie where there is also blood in a shower, the hand refers to the final scene outside the ruins of Carrie's house.

    • This episode features a shot of a bus that Christina is on driving past a sign that reads "Now leaving Point Pleasant. Please come again." This is a reference to the final shot of the second season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, a show on which Marti Noxon was a writer.

    • Its revealed in this episode that Chistina is antichrist.
