  • The Chances are in trouble when a social worker suspects they might be guilty of elder abuse judging from some of the ways they try to deal with Maw Maw's antics. Jimmy and Sabrina test the limits in their relationship when he is asked to get rid of his favorite T-shirt.

    Allusions (2)

    • The episode title is a reference to Throw Momma from the Train, a 1987 comedy starring Danny DeVito, Billy Crystal, Kate Mulgrew and Anne Ramsey. While in this episode the Chances fight to keep Maw Maw in their house, in the movie, the main characters played by DeVito and Crystal conspire to kill their respective mother and wife.

    • Virginia: I want to watch Wipeout. They're doing farmers versus plumbers.

      Wipeout is a reality game show where contestants compete in a series of obstacles to win a money prize, and often they do themed episodes. The show premiered in 2008.
