    • Sidney: Oh yeah, forget to tell you...we're married. Nigel: What?

    • (While Kurt has the diary which Sydney can translate) Nigel: She's got a point (Kurt points the gun at Nigel) So has he.

    • (After Nigel falls through a trapdoor) Sydney: Nigel, are you alright? Nigel: (Checks himself) If you consider lying in a Boston sewer alright then - yes.

    • (About the distance left to walk) Nigel: How much further is it? Derek: For you, maybe just a matter of feet. There are land mines everywhere.

    • (When the car has broken down) Derek: Okay. Nigel: You fixed it? Just like that? Derek: On foot.

    • Nigel: He needs you, he doesn't need me.

    • (After catching Sydney and Nigel in the tent together) Dallas: That a boy Nigel!

    • Nigel: A comet! A comet is magnificent, huge masses of ice and rock which when they get too close to the sun begin to evaporate, forming trails of dust and gas millions of miles long that may be seen all the way from the earth! Claudia: OK! Let's get security up here quick, before Luke Skywalker goes over the edge!

    Notes (20)

    • Guest star Paul Miller is starring in "Psi Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal." Both Relic Hunter and Psi Factor are produced by CanWest Entertainment Inc.

    • Rena Mero was the WWF wrestler known as Sable. She left the WWF, in part because they wanted her to expose her breasts and she refused. She started making the rounds of syndicated TV after that, and there were claims that she was to become a recurring villain on Relic Hunter (thus the vague ending of this episode). Allegedly she didn't get along well with the cast and crew, particularly Tia Carrere, and as of the end of the third season her character has never been brought back.

    • "Affaire de Coeur" is French for "affair of the heart."

    • When Nigel and Syd get into the car and Nigel flips on the TV, listen carefully. The yells, sword clanging, and lightning bursts of a Quickening from the Highlander TV series can be heard. A number of the Relic Hunter production crew also worked on Highlander.

    • Tony Anholt is Christien Anholt's (Nigel) real-life father.

    • This is the first episode in which Lindy Booth (Claudia) is listed in the main title sequence.

    • 2001 Gemini Nominated - Best Production Design or Art Direction in a Dramatic Program or Series Jon P. Goulding and Ed Hanna.

    • Recurring guest star Nancy Sakovich and guest star Colin Fox are starring in "Psi Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal." Both Relic Hunter and Psi Factor are produced by CanWest Entertainment Inc.

    Trivia (21)

    • The Buddha had fallen from his footings and lay flat against the ground - so why was the platform, inside his belly where the bowl was found, up the right way as they entered? It should have been sideways coming out of a back wall.

    • When they were trying to find their way out of the maze, why didn't they just find the trail left by the vase. It seemed to be displacing a lot of dirt when it was being dragged, and would have been easy to follow.

    • Really petty, but how does the bottle stay so dusty despite all the attention it gets?

    • Syd follows three guys up the cliff but later says that there were only two.

    • Wow. Syd can not only discern footprints in gravel she can accurately assess that they are 'military'. Do the armed forces (and rebels) have special rugged kick-ass footwear the rest of us are denied? I appreciate that she could have guessed that the prints were left by rebels rather then the Mochica, but that isn't what she says... (editor's note: actually, military boots are pretty distinctive, and if they were moving in a military pattern or something she might have been able to make that determination, so it doesn't seem that odd)

    • I'm no doctor, but doesn't 'the old guy' (as Syd affectionately calls him) hurt his left arm in the crash, the same arm which Syd grabs to help him out of the plane - wouldn't that have hurt him?

    • Tiny, I know. But as SF and NB are chased from the dig sight one of the baddies knocks the stone top to the underground room thing which suddenly looks very un-stone like...

    • I accept that Syd is in a rush when she first arrives at the hotel, but what happens to the card that the genuine chap from the Government has left for her?
