His family - wife Trina and their two boys, Jack and Bo and his horrible job at a fiberglass plant but he manages to makes time for his longtime friend, Barry, and his man-hungry sister-in-law, Charlie, who often visits the Hamilton house. There's never time for life to get dull for Rodney. He's not afraid to walk into a department store naked on a dare. Not afraid to take credit for flowers someone else sent his wife. Not afraid to get between his fighting boys. Not afraid to tell his wife he's ready to make standup comedy his career, okay, he's a little afraid of that. One matter they do agree on is the fact that, although they may not have much in the way of material things, they are rich in the love of their family and friends. Trivia (7)

    • After Rodney finishes his set he goes to the bar and as he is talking to the bartender, the bartender goes from holding a plastic bottle to a glass depending on whether the camera is behind the bartender or behind Rodney.

    • In the Pilot opening, Rodney tells his life story about how he met Trina. In the flashback, Trina was a waitress at a bar where he was performing. Also, there was mention of peeing on a campfire. In this episode, Charlie works at the bar and Trina visits her there. The fire is not mentioned.

    • The characters sure seem to like wasting beer. At the scene at the bar, Charlie leaves without having finished her beer (you can tell it's not finished by how far up she has to lift the bottom of the bottle). Then Rodney orders a new beer for Trina, despite the fact that the beer Trina is drinking isn't finished. Then everybody gets up and leaves. That's two half-full beers and one entirely full beer being left behind. What a waste.

    • Keith's gender seems to be in confusion all through the ep, as the cow is called both "he" and "she" , and being given a male name isn't helping. They finally settle on female--which, if so, would make Keith next to useless as beef cattle, and kiliing her for food fairly pointless. Beef is generally made from steers (castrated males) because their flesh is more tender and palatable than a cow's, who are generally used more for their milk and for breeding.

    • This episode was actually meant to be the premiere episode of season 2 continuing where the season 1 finale left off. but for some reason ABC decided to air the episode entitled "To Hell and Back" as the season 2 premiere instead.

    • Trina: What's wrong with you? Rodney: It's not right Trina. Celebrity, you can cheat, you can lie, you can shoplift, you can have your sex tapes thrown all over the internet, and all you have to do is say you're sorry. Trina: And you don't like that. Rodney: No. I want that!

    • Correct references to Highway 20 and 64 and Verdigris river. All of which any Tulsan would know.
