    • Jackie: (waiting with Dan at Rodbell's for the commercial production to start, and wondering how DJ is feeling since his friend will be moving away) Ooh! Still upset? Dan: Yeah, he doesn't even want to measure his head in the shoe department.

    • Jackie: Hey Beck, where's Darlene? Becky: Well, they said she couldn't be in the commercial dressed like death. Dan: She go home? Becky: Not yet! (Darlene walks in wearing a flowered dress and braided pigtails) Darlene: Shut up. Dan: Why Darlene! You look- Darlene: Shut up. Jackie: Oh, come on! It's not so- Darlene: Shut up!

    • DJ: (to Todd) You're only moving to Chicago cuz your mom needs an operation. Todd: She does not! DJ: She does too! My mom said she's having a big stick taken out of her butt.

    • Jackie: Guys, what are you doing? Roseanne: Chewing. What about you Dan? Dan: I'm a little ahead of you dear, I just swallowed.

    • Darlene: This is such a joke. We go to the mall on Saturday, and sit around just pretending we like lousy food? Becky: What is your problem? We've been rehearsing for this all our lives.

    Allusions (3)

    • Jackie: (To Roseanne who is sulking because Jackie was chosen over her to play the mom in the Rodbell's television commercial). Come on, Roseanne, it's been two weeks...Everybody else has let it drop, can't you?... Come on... Roseanne: (chuckles) Okay. I guess, ya know, it's not like I'd ever win an Emmy or anything. Roseanne's remark is an allusion to the fact that both she and Laurie Metcalf had been nominated for Emmys. This episode's original air date was March 3, 1992. Later, in August of 1992, Laurie won an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for Roseanne. Roseanne (Arnold, at the time), who was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for Roseanne, lost the Emmy to Candice Bergen for Murphy Brown.

    • Bonnie: (to Roseanne as they check out the actresses who will portray them as waitresses in the Rodbell commercial) Check out the high heels on Barbarella, over there. Bonnie is alluding to the far in the future Jane Fonda character, Babarella, from the 1968 movie, Barbarella: Queen of the Galaxy.

    • When Dan sees how the commercial producers dressed Darlene for the commercial, he addresses her as "Heidi." This is an allusion to the movie Heidi about a crippled girl who is rehabillitated by the Alps.
