    • (Tommy has just come up with the idea they could break out of the day care center; the others are shocked)

Wiseguy:Well, a lot of guys have tried it, and...

Justin:He had a buddy who tried to break out...

Wiseguy:I can tell it. He tried to climb out the window. They caught him before he even reached the bars!

      Tommy:What'd they do to him?

Wiseguy: First, they put him in the pen... just to soften him up. Then, they made him put away all the toys in the playroom, by himself! Then... they... CALLED HIS MOM! (breaks down into tears)

Justin: They transferred him to Happy Valley Day Care. We never saw him again.

Tommy:Well, my plan's different. We're not gonna get caught, and we're not gonna get transferred neither. We're just gonna get out.

    • Angelica: Aunt Didi, Aunt Didi... Drew: Now, honey, Daddy and Aunt Didi are talking. Angelica: I know, but... Drew: And when grown-ups are talking, little boys and girls are supposed to wait quietly. Angelica: I know, but... Drew: Then when the grown-ups say it's okay for you to talk, then you can say whatever you want. Angelica: I know, but... (Drew puts his finger over her lips) Drew: Now, honey, calmly, what was it you wanted to tell Aunt Didi? Angelica: The little kids has gotten away! Didi and Hector's Mom: Aah! Oh, no! Drew: You know, honey, these are the kinds of things you should really tell the grown-ups right away.

    • Dr. Schachter: Michael Jordan watch out! Tommy Pickles is right behind you!

    • Slogan for Golden Apple Day Care: An apple a day keeps the children at bay.

    • Chuckie: (Talking about booster shots) Then they hold you down and give you the shot and you cry and you cry and they say, "there now, that wasn't so bad, was it?" but it is bad, Tommy, real bad!

    Notes (1)

    • The premise of "The Big House" is somewhat similar to co-creator Paul Germain and writer Joe Ansolabehere's next cartoon series, Recess. Pamela Segall, who voiced Wiseguy and Crybaby in the episode was the voice of Spinelli on said show, along with a number of Rugrats voice actors.

    Trivia (4)

    • Goof: In "The Big House," after Didi leaves the daycare, Tommy begins to cry in his stroller. However, when the camera angle changes, the stroller is gone and Tommy is crying standing up on the floor.

    • In "The Shot," Tommy, Hector, and Angelica's lollipops are the same colors as their band-aids.

    • Goof: Immediately after Tommy left the doctor's office, so did Hector, then Angelica. It's impossible for Dr. Schachter to have examined and given shots to Hector, seconds after Tommy. Same goes for Angelica, who had gotten her's immediately after Hector.

    • Goof: In the episode "The Big House", Tommy's timeout goes from 9:55 to 10:00. When the clock's big hand reaches 12, the clock shows the time as 12 noon instead of 10:00.

    Allusions (1)

    • Dr. Lecter: Hello, Chuckie. It's me your pal, Dr. Lecter
Dr. Lecter is the famous cannibalistic doctor played by Anthony Hopkins in Silence Of The Lambs.
