    • Tina Fey: According to researchers, sex benefits the heart, burns calories, reduces depression, boosts immunity, and releases pain-reducing endorphins. But most importantly, it makes boys like you.

    • Tina Fey: CBS announced that will not air Moveon.org's winning anti-Bush ad during the Super Bowl, saying that they don't air so-called "issue ads." Unless the issue is that girls are sluts for beer.

    • Tina Fey: A new restaurant in Australia is opening called "Lewinsky's", inspired by former White House intern, Monica Lewinsky. Eat there once, pay for it the rest of your life.

    Notes (6)

    • Sketches not shown in the 60 minute version: "MTV Future", "American Idol", "The Sharon Osbourne Show", "Panty Shopping", "Tylenol Extreme," and G-Unit's performance of "Wanna Get To Know You."

    • Jeff Richards was fired shortly after this episode aired (for a number of reasons, a major one being that he ignored direction for this episode's Howard Dean cold opening). An interesting note is that Howard Dean was still the frontrunner for the Democratic nomination at the time Richards was fired. This indicates that the producers were so unhappy with Richards that they didn't care that he played such an important political figure.

    • Unlike the Alec Baldwin-Kim Basinger episode from season 19, Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey appeared in a lot of sketches together (Basinger only appeared in three sketches--four if you count the monologue--because she didn't like hosting SNL as much as her husband at the time did).

    • The "Nut Jingles" sketch was cut from last week's episode. Jennifer Aniston had Jessica Simpson's role.

    • It's appropriate that Chris Parnell plays a Howard Dean supporter during the cold opening since Parnell actually contributed $500.00 to Dean's campaign.

    Trivia (2)

    • During the introduction of the "Newlyweds" sketch, they mention other shows on MTV like "Real World: Uranus." They also say "Newlyweds" is the longest running MTV show ever, when in actuality "The Real World" premired eleven years before Nick and Jessica's program.

    • Nick's microphone didn't work in the opening monologue.
