    • The Comedy Central version of this episode edits out parts of the "Jimmy Tango Fat Busters" sketch where an audience member asks about the side effects of the weight loss plan and Jimmy Tango (Jim Carrey) describes them. The edited version cuts from Jimmy mentioning the shed in San Bernadino to Jimmy talking to a female client (Nancy Walls).

    • In "Comedy Central's 50 Greatest SNL Episodes", this episode clocks in at #1.

    • Joe Dicso, who had been stage manager for almost every SNL episode over the first 21 years, retired after this episode. Jim Carrey stands next to Dicso in the goodnights.

    • Jim Carrey was not the producers' first choice to host this episode. They asked him after somebody else cancelled.

    • This is David Spade, David Koechner and Nancy Walls's last episode.
