  • Quotes (2)

    • Tina Fey: A Harvard Medical School study has determined that rectal thermometers are still the best way to take a baby's temperature. Plus, it really teaches the baby who's boss.

    • Jimmy Fallon: Famous suspense novelist Robert Ludlum died this week... or did he?

    Notes (8)

    • Sketches cut after dress rehearsal: a Dick Cheney Cold Opening, where Cheney (Darrell Hammond) is on his way to a hospital, and Jimmy Fallon says "Live from New York"; a sketch parody of the Sean 'Puffy' Combs trial; a sketch where a group of people engage in a science fiction game; a sketch where a no nonsense boss (Will Ferrell) won't put up with crap from his employees; "Wade Blasingame"; and a commercial parody of Sarafem.

    • Sketches/segments not shown on the E! (and Comedy Central) rerun: Der Lachlen Beherrst (the German kids show), the SNL mini-film "The Doberman", Van Morrison's Saint Patrick's Day, Apollo Amateur Night, a sketch featuring David Copperfield, and Aerosmith's performance of "Big Ten Inch Record".

    • Aerosmith performs "Jaded" and "Big Ten Inch Record," marking the second time they performed a song from their 1975 album, "Toys In The Attic." They also perfomed "Sweet Emotion" on October 9, 1993.

    • In the "Der Lachlen Beherrscht" sketch, the voice of the skeleton who sings "I'm Inside Every One of You" is SNL writer/cast member Tina Fey.

    • Famous Illusionist David Copperfield made his first appearance on SNL in this episode.

    Trivia (2)

    • Actually this is the 500th episode to make it to the air. Two episodes, one in 1981 with Franken and Davis and the Grateful Dead and another in 1985 with John Candy, Eugene Levy, and Hall and Oates were written but not performed.

    • In the "Der Lachlen Beherrscht" (the German kids show) sketch, the coffin door falls apart when Herr Gracken (Will Ferrell) and Olaus (Chris Parnell) open it.
