    • CORRECTION: According to the New York City metro edition of TV guide dated Sept. 9, this show aired on that date. Also, according to TV guide's TV listings, shows 27, 28, 30 and 31 aired in July and were rebroadcast from August 12 through Sept. 2. I don't know what the reason was for this. Very confusing, especially when a Soul magazine article stated that the last show of the 1971 to 1972 season was the show with Curtis Mayfield, War and Wilson Pickett. Maybe Don wanted to start the new season earlier? Regardless, this is what the TV listings stated back then, but since Soul Train was a syndicated show, air dates varied in all areas.
