  • Episode Description
  • While participating in the U.S.-Mexico Cross Country Race, Speed Buggy and the gang run into Jerick, the Incredible Changing Man, who has the ability to alter his size and form as he seeks a special tape of a physical formula that can enable him to create an army of Incredibles similar to himself. The tape was placed in Speedy's cassette player by a scientist looking to make sure it wouldn't fall into Jerick's hands, but he tracks the gang down and captures them in hope of getting it back. But they're able to turn the tables on him as Tinker is able to make his own version of the changing ray from the tape recording and use it on Speedy to save the day.moreless

  • Quotes (1)

    • (The gang is trapped by a giant Jerick in a temple) Debbie: What now? Mark: Operation Shoestring. (He and Tinker tie Jerick's shoelaces together) Debbie: I just hope Operation Shoestring works. Mark: Don't my operations always work? Debbie: No comment. Tinker: Here, Speedy. Speedy: Vroom! Jerick: Oh, no you don't! (Trips and begins to fall) Debbie: TIMBER! (Jerick crashes) Now's our chance. Tinker: Hit it, Speedy! Speedy: (sputters) Roger Dodger, Tink! (sputters) Vroom-a-zoom-zoom!

    Notes (1)

    • Once Jerick uses the changing ray on himself, he's able to alter his size and shape by uttering the word "Metamorpho".

    Trivia (3)

    • Goof: When the gang first encounter Jerick as he traps them, faraway shots of Mark on Speed Buggy show him wearing his racing helmet, but closeup shots have him without it.

    • Goof: After a giant Jerick grabs Debbie and Mark and holds them in his hand, the latter's hair is brown instead of black.

    • Goof: In the final scene, Debbie is seen in the rear seat where Mark was originally seated prior and there was no indication they switched. Then Speed Buggy, still affected by Tinker's changing ray, hiccups, causing his tires to grow. But the final shot uses the ending clip of the series pilot Speed Buggy Went That-A-Way, as it shows Speedy's tires at their normal diameter, as well as wearing a cowboy hat and Mark is driving instead of Tinker, who's seated in the rear as the car is bucking around like a horse.
