  • Quotes (3)

    • Dan: (opening broadcast) The Olympic gold-medal winning gymnast and high school sophomore said that, "After all those years of hard work, it was a relief to finally realize her lifelong dream." Good to get that out of the way at 15.

    • Jeremy: Hey, just got off the phone with Libby in Nepal. Corey is 1500 feet from the summit.
Natalie: (excited) Two guys have ascended five miles into the sky! They walked up a wall of ice, and are preparing to knock on the door of heaven itself. There's really no end to what we can do. You know what the trick is?
      Dan: What?
      Natalie: Get in the game.

    • (Dan shares a sandwich with the homeless man as they watch the Everest summit.)
Dan: Look at what we can do.

    Notes (5)

    • Closing Music as Dan and the homeless man share the sandwich is "The Weight" by the Band.

    • Joe Whyte makes an uncredited appearance as mountain climber Desmond Corey in this episode.

    • Part of this episode deals with Dana going to see the play "The Lion King." Robert Guillaume, who plays Isaac, did the voice of the baboon Rafiki in the animated Disney version.

    • The episode states that Mt. Everest is 29,029 feet high. This was true at the time of writing the episode. Subsequently, the height of Mt. Everest has been disputed through measurements by three countries. The United States' GPS measurements of both the rock height and snow cap, the Chinese measurement of the rock height, and the Nepalese measurement of the snow cap do not agree.

    • Sorkin Intersections: Felton Perry guested on The West Wing.

    Trivia (1)

    • Isaac mentions leaving his 1.5 acre property in New Canaan, Connecticut, and coming to work in a 54-story glass high rise. Although the show's exteriors are always the late World Trade Center's Twin Towers, Isaac's description means the studio is not in the towers.

    Allusions (1)

    • The title is never spoken during the show, and the closest reference is when Jeremy waxes poetic over the height of Mount Everest, which he says is 29,029 feet.
