  • Quotes (2)

    • Dan : So what are you planning on cooking tomorrow morning? Casey : I'm not cooking. It's not a cooking show. Dan : Are you sure? Casey : It's a news show. Dan : The View? Casey : Yeah. Dan : The one with Barbra Walters and the four woman who cook. Casey : They don't cook, it's a news show. Dan : Who are the other guests? Casey : It's just me and another guy. Dan : Who's the other guy? Casey : You're having a good time aren't ya? Dan : Who's the other guy? Casey : It's Wolfgang Puck! You want a piece of me? Dan : No, but thanks.

    • Isaac: What's going on in Chattanooga? Dana: We don't know. Isaac: We don't know? Dana: We don't know. Isaac: We don't know anything? Dana: We don't know much. Isaac: But, fundamentally, we're still a news-gathering organization, right? Dana: Sure. Isaac: Then what's the problem? Dana: We're not very good. Isaac: That's what I thought.

    Notes (4)

    • In the end title with the show name, the "S" in "Sports Night" has a Santa hat dangling from the first curve of the letter.

    • The series DVD packaging lists this episode as "The Six Southern Gentlemen of Tennessee Tech." Tennessee Tech is in Cookeville, Tenn., about two hours north of Chattanooga. This is the wrong school title for this episode, as the story is about players from the fictional Tennessee Western University, supposedly located in Chattanooga.

    • Aaron Sorkin, Matt Tarses, David Walpert, & Bill Wrubel won the 1999 Humanitas Prize in the "30-Minute Category" for their work on this episode.

    • Sorkin Intersections: Janel Moloney starred in The West Wing.

    Trivia (2)

    • It seems odd that Tennessee Western University would be in Chattanooga, as the city of Chattanooga is in the far south and eastern part of the state.

    • In this episode they list the show's website as "www.csc/sportsnight.com" which is, of course, not a possible web address, as slashes are not allowed where shown.
