    • O'Brien: Julian, it's time to face facts. You're not going to pull a rabbit out of your medkit.

    • Martok: Worf, I do not seek the Leadership. Worf: Kahless said, "Great men do not seek power. They have power thrust upon them." Hail Martok, leader of the Empire. Leader of destiny.

    • Garak: About taking Odo on this mission, I'm afraid there's no easy way of putting it. He's been hiding the true extent of his illness from you for some time now. His condition has severely deteriorated and the more he changes form, the worse he gets. Kira: I know. Garak: You do? Kira: I love him, Garak. You think I really wouldn't notice? Garak: Why the pretense? Kira: Because I also know that he doesn't want me to find out about it. He wants to put up a brave front and protect me from the truth? Well, fine. If that's what makes this easier for him, if that gives him one shred of dignity to hold on to, then I'll go on ignoring what's happening to him until the very end. Anything else?

    • Kira: (Kira pins the Gul's left arm behind his back, while she wraps her free arm around the Gul's windpipe and squeezes) Don't you ever touch me again.
      Rusot: I guess I hit a nerve.
Kira: No, this... (tightens her squeeze around the Gul's neck - he chokes for air) ...is hitting a nerve. Stop pushing me, or I'll make you realize just how many nerves you have in that miserable body.

    • Bashir: (after formulating a plan to lure a member of Section 31 to the station) I think it's a plan. A very good plan. When did you get so devious?
O'Brien: I've been hanging around you too long. Let's just hope this works, and we cure Odo. That's all I care about.
      Bashir: Me, too, Miles.

    • This episodes marks the deaths of Chancellor Gowron (Robert O'Reilly) and Gul Rusot (John Vickery). This is the last appearance of Robert O'Reilly on the series.

    • Worf becomes the leader of the Klingon Empire for a very brief period of time in this episode.

    Trivia (7)

    • Ezri Dax spends most of her Season 7 tenure being overwhelmed by the Dax symbiont. During her conversation with Worf, she expresses an uncharacteristically individual opinion about the Klingon Empire. By now, Ezri must finally be discovering her true identity above the symbiont's other eight personalities.

    • Odo assumes the identity of the female changeling. Usually, he doesn't take other people's forms. This episode marks the first and last time this happens.

    • On the Cardassian repair station, the circular door begins to open before the Jem'Hadar guard presses the control panel.

    • After Worf kills Gowron and moves to open his eyelids, you can see Robert O'Reilly's right eyelid reflexively blink when Michael Dorn's finger brushed over his eyelash.

    • It is very doubtful Luaran would not have recognized Damar, let alone Kira and Garak. The Vorta would be informed both by visual and written records of who top enemy personnel were, especially in the case of Damar - an all points bulletin, so to speak, with the aforementioned information would've been put out for him, being a traitor to the Dominion. Even the low ranking guard at the airlock recognizes Damar.
