Kirk, Spock, and McCoy are captured by a slug-like race and put in a zoo.
The focus of this episode rests on the shoulders of Kirk, Spock, and McCoy, and that's usually enough to make things interesting. This episode, however, meanders quite a bit before getting to the meat of the story, and the Kirk, Spock, Bones banter isn't enough to cover up this problem (though there are some very pretty backgrounds, representing various parts of the "planet of the week".) Things pick up in the second half, with some interesting alien designs and some nice plot points, making it a solid and memorable Star Trek installment. All in all, it's a typical animated episode.moreless
Kirk, Spock and McCoy become prisoners in a zoo
This is a very well written and even cute episode of the animated series. I say that it is cute just because of what the slug-like aliens look like, they aren't scary at all, but they aren't trying to be. It is a good story when you get humans captured and having to be looked at like zoo animals by other aliens. They turn out to be very intellegent and also very friendly. Overall, this is another really great episode I enjoyed and didn't get bored at all. A good mix of really good writing and acting. This is a recommended episode.moreless
