  • Trivia & Quotes
  • Quotes (13)

    • Ronon: You took a picture of him just in case it came to this. I was there. Lorne: (to his team) He's telling the truth. (He looks at John.) This is our commanding officer. Sheppard: (vaguely) That's right. I am your commanding officer, so you should do what I say. Lorne: Yes, sir. What are your orders? Sheppard: (Realizing he has no clue what to say, he points to Ronon) ...do what he says.

    • Ronon: Uh, there. (John sits down while Ronon takes the co-pilot's seat. John stares at the controls blankly.) Ronon: You can fly this thing. It's in your blood, literally.

    • Sheppard: (over radio) Lorne, come in. Lorne: Yes, sir, go ahead. Sheppard: You seen Zelenka? Lorne: As a matter of fact, I have. Sheppard: Did you bring him to the Mess Hall? Lorne: Uh, sorry, sir, but he gave us the slip. Must have heard us coming. Cracked one of my people over the head with a metal rod and disappeared down a service hatch before I could get a shot off. There's no telling where he is now.

    • Carter: All right. We'll just have to search room by room. I mean, how big could this place possibly be? (She walks towards a door, which slides open to reveal an outdoor balcony. She and Rodney walk out and stare, awestruck, at the sight of the city's many towers in front of them. They look at each other in horror.)

    • Sheppard: You showing any signs? McKay: Headache. Sheppard: Yeah, same here. McKay: Five bucks says you start losing your memories first. Sheppard: (indignantly) Rodney!

    Trivia (2)

    • The name of the recurring Head Nurse played by Linda Ko is revealed as Marie.

    • The messages McKay wrote on his arm when he was forgetting his memories include the code to unlock the door to the brig, as well as "little guy with glasses" (Zelenka), "avoid soldiers", "100s will die", "Teyla" and "tablet computer".

    Allusions (5)

    • Total Recall: At the beginning when Rodney sees a message to himself explaining everything, it is very similar to the movie Total Recall, in which Arnold Schwarzenegger's character finds a package with clues to his identity including a taped message from himself.

    • Cube: McKay (David Hewlett) writing on the pillars to indicate corridors already traveled is very similar to the sci-fi film Cube in which the characters (one played by Hewlett) have to navigate their way out of a massive cube, the boxes/cells of which are constantly moving.

    • Memento: McKay writing reminders on his arms and Sheppard's polaroid are reminiscent of the film Memento, starring Guy Pearce, in which the main character has no long-term memory and has tattoos on his body as reminders.

    • Clean Slate: McKay's message to himself is similar to the film Clean Slate starring Dana Carvey, in which the main character looses his memory when he sleeps and has an audio tape that tells him who he is and what to do.

    • Title: Tabula Rasa is Latin for "scraped tablet". It also has been translated to mean "clean slate" or "blank slate".
