  • Trivia & Quotes
  • Quotes (10)

    • Daniel: I just hope we won't regret giving them those gate addresses. Jack: I don't think we will. First one being a black hole, and all... they get progressively darker after that.

    • Kinsey: I swear, O'Neill, there's going to be an investigation into this! Jack: Well that'll be fine. O'Neill, two L's!

    • Teal'c: Have you found something, Daniel Jackson? Daniel: God, I hope not. Probably though.

    • Borren: I thought I made it clear your weapons were unnecessary. Jack: (sarcastically) Oh, I thought you were joking around. You know like, you always do.

    • Daniel: What Jack is trying to say is that if they were excited, they would have never shown it. Jack: They don't get excited in general, General. It's like an entire planet of accountants.

    Notes (5)

    • The alien texts (i.e. the newspaper clipping) are actually written in English. The trick to reading it is to replace each letter with the one that comes right before it in the alphabet. Ex.: The newspaper is called "Uif Mpmjbo Wpjdf" and the headline says "Wbddjof gspn ofxdpnfst dbvtft tufsjmjuw" If you replace the letters, it becomes "The Lolian Voice" and "Vaccine from newcomers causes sterility."

    • When told that the negotiations may take longer, Ashen say that they are patient people, which may be a hint at the plot of "2010", in which the Ashen slowly lowered Earth's population through sterility.

    • Ambassador Joe Faxon, who Carter seems to have a crush on in this episode, was actually her husband in the alternate future of "2010".

    • Carter mentions that the idea of transforming a gas giant to a star has occurred to Arthur C. Clarke, the writer of the novels 2001 and 2010.

    • Syndication airdate: March 23, 2003.

    Trivia (4)

    • As the Aschen Harvester dials Earth, Carter is able to tell that Earth is the destination by watching the Stargate's chevrons lock on each symbol. If she can do this, she should have been able to determine which planet was the Aschen homeworld when the Harvester dialed that planet earlier. This would have prevented the uncertainty over which planet was the Aschen homeworld and whether it was the one locked out of the SGC computer.

    • Trivia: This episode takes place seven months after "2010."

    • When Jack tells Kinsey that there are two L's in O'Neill, he holds up three fingers.

    • The first shot of SG-1 coming through the gate is a re-use from the season 2 episode "Touchstone." The only problem with doing this is that Carter and O'Neill are carrying MP-5s one moment and P-90's the next. You can also see Daniel's longer hair.

    Allusions (1)

    • Jack: Just when you think you're not in Kansas any more... Jack is paraphrasing one of Dorothy's first lines after being transported to the land of Oz in the movie adaptation of The Wizard of Oz.
