  • Hathor has all the men in the SGC under a spell, so it's up to the women + the unaffected Teal'c to save the day.

  • Trivia & Quotes
  • Quotes (5)

    • Fraiser: Gentlemen, there are five women in here very alone. Sam: Why do I feel like I'm in a Women Behind Bars movie?

    • Sam: (after knocking Hammond unconscious) Yeah, my career is over. Fraiser: Don't worry about it. I can fix him up good as new when this thing is over. Sam: Great, so he can bring me up on charges.

    • Jack: Do we really think anyone's going to believe that woman if she goes around blabbing about a 'Stargate?' I mean, I have a hard enough time believing that woman down on 73rd who walks around talking about these little devil people who live in her hair. Even though she could use a little conditioner.

    • Hathor: You, with the crown of marble. Jack: She might mean you, sir. Hathor: You are the ruler here? Hammond: Yes, ma'am. Hathor: May we take your hand? Hammond: Why? Hathor: We wish to kiss it, to bless you with fertility and joy. Jack: Well, you can't pass that up, sir.

    • Daniel: Hathor was the Egyptian goddess for fertility, inebrity and music. Jack: Sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll? Daniel: In a manner of speaking.

    • Syndication air date: January 25, 1999.

    • We find out how the 'X'-shaped entrance to the larval womb in the Jaffa is created in this episode.

    Trivia (4)

    • Towards the end of the episode when you see Hathor coming up out of the spa you can clearly see it is a reverse shot of her going into the water. Also when she gets out of the water she is completely dry.

    • Hathor manages to get out of her bath which has just burst into flames (for no apparent reason but that's not important) but only a few minutes later, she is completely dry and her clothes are not even slightly singed.

    • When Hathor turns Jack into her first new Jaffa, you can see the line between his chest and the prosthetic that gives him the Jaffa "pouch".

    • Carter says she's surfing the web to locate information on Hathor, but the URL on the monitor is pointing to a local file on the hard drive.

    Allusions (2)

    • Carter: My mama said there'd be days like this. References Mama Said, a song by The Shirelles and it made the saying "My mama said there'd be days like this."

    • Hathor The feminine goddess par excellence in ancient Egypt, Hathor was a pre-Dynastic goddess who gained enormous popularity early on. Her name is translated as "the House of Horus", which may be a reference to her as the embodiment of the sky in her role of the Celestial Cow, being that which surrounds the decidedly sky-oriented hawk-deity, Horus, when he takes wing. If Horus was the god associated with the living king, Hathor was the god associated with the living queen.
