    • Carter: It's possible when the hyperdrive was brought on line, no one took into account the instability of the Naquadria? O'Neill: Who does?

    • Carter: Sir, based on the amount of time we spent in hyperspace, I'd estimate we're at least 1200 light years from Earth. O'Neill: How does that help us? Carter: It doesn't.

    Trivia (1)

    • When Carter is trying to get through the corridor the wind is blowing against her, yet when she opens the hatch door, it swings open against the wind. Then, when Carter is closing the door, she is pulling quite hard, even though the wind should make closing the hatch door easy.

I have to say that the Prometheus is a mean-looking ship - very cool. The bridge reminded me of Star Trek a bit, as did parts of the engine room, but the outside look was phenomenal. It was like a US Navy destroyer.

This shows the ugly side of secret government operations. I think it's insulting that elected officials and their representatives, who are supposed to be acting on the public's behalf and are essentially the servants of the public, would behave with dishonour and without integrity when their secrets are threatened. I say keep a secret, if you can keep it. But if you've lost and the information is public, then free speech wins. Thus I salute all the actions that exposed government secrets and helped the cause of free speech. I don't think national security is ever compromised to the extent that it doesn't benefit the public interest. In other words, the reveal of the NSA monitoring, the Pentagon Papers, etc. are some of the most partriotic actions a person can undertake.
