  • Episode Description
  • After a particularly rough ride through the Stargate, SG-1 arrives on a planet with a Norwegian-like society. As they meet the villagers, the sky and the sun suddenly change to an orange-red color, rendering the whole planet in an orange glow. The villagers immediately think it's Ragnarok, the End of Dawn, while Samantha discovers that the wormhole they came through must have gone directly through the sun. Some heavy elements must have triggered a reaction inside the sun, so that its light pattern changed, and the planet's plant life will be destroyed. While the locals start praying to Freyr, an Asgard posing as a god, SG-1 tries contacting the Asgard in a more effective way. When the Asgard decline to intervene, the team needs to try and reverse the reaction in the sun on their own.moreless

  • good episode...

    By Fwirrel, Aug 16, 2007

  • Human ingenuity frells it up again... sometimes we just don't get the point when we run into a brick wall that maybe we should stop. That said, Sam's too clever for the good of the planet they're visiting. Is she clever enough to save it?

    • Jack: (trying to expose Freyr to the masses) Spaceship? Big machine like the one we were building, only his is way better and... not blown up. I'm not kidding you, folks. This little feller is about three feet tall, got clammy gray skin, big black eyes and skinny, tiny little arms and legs, like toothpicks.

    • (The sun does something funky) Jack: Carter, what just happened? Sam: Some sort of shift in the light frequency. Jack: Good. I thought I was having a stroke.

    • Hammond: Have you considered other options? Sam: The other option we considered turned out to be a one in a million shot, Sir. The rocket gives us better than 50/50 odds. Hammond: Rockets don't exactly grow on trees, Major.

    • Sam: Yes, sir, but I think we can now increase that estimate to 1%. Jack: It's your call, General. I only understand about 1% of what she says half the time...

    • Sam: Sir, I've been thinking... Jack: I'd be shocked if you ever stopped, Carter.
