  • Maybe out of sequence?

    By KarlSchantz, Jan 26, 2014

  • I say "Out of Character" because it's the closest I can get to "EPIC CONTINUITY FAIL;" the characters are not supposed to be as flagrantly obtuse as they are in this episode.

  • Quotes (7)

    • Jack: Um, will you excuse me? We just don’t get out of Cheyenne Mountain enough. I’m, gonna grab some air... outside. General, Captain, General... waiter!

    • Sam: I see General Hammond's already doing the rounds. (Jack snaps his fingers while speaking) Jack: Oh, yeah. He's a player. He knows how to work a room. Punch?

    • Sam: Good thing you remembered the shield's deflection capability's directly proportional to the amount of kinetic energy directed at it. Jack: Right...

    • Selig: Look, I've got all I need. I don't need you, but I've got to admit I wanted to meet you anyway. When this breaks, you're going to be a hero. Jack: Cool. So what're you going to say about me?

    • Teal'c: Daniel Jackson assures me the Abydonians are a peaceful people. Jack: They're a great people, are you kidding? (To Carter) In fact, what do you say you and I blow off this medal ceremony thing and go with the boys?

    Trivia (7)

    • When Teal'c aims his Zat at Sha're in front of the Stargate, the Zat makes the opening sounds but remains closed

    • Trivia: This episode takes place exactly one Abydonian year after "Children of the Gods (1)".

    • Both Teal'c (disguised as a Horus guard) and one of Heru'ur's Jaffa refer to the Stargate as such instead of "the Chaapa'ai."

    • The baby seemingly lacks an umbilical cord.

    • Teal'c somehow knows that it is Heru'ur, not Apophis, who landed the mothership on the Abydos pyramid.

    Allusions (3)

    • Finger Snapping When Jack snaps his fingers while referring to Hammond's ability to work a room, Jack is imitating Frank Sinatra. Sinatra was famous for--among other things--his ability to work a room and his smooth finger snaps while singing.

    • Amonet:
She is a goddess whose name means "hidden one". Her shadow, among the primeval gods, is a symbol of protection. She is also known as Amaunet

    • Col. O'Neill: All right... if you're gonna go ahead with it, I wanna make sure you get one thing right. It's O'Neill, with 2 L's. There's another Colonel O'Neil with only one L - he has no sense of humor at all.
The Colonel O'Neill in the movie Stargate spelled his name with only one L so it looked like, Colonel Jack O'Neil.
