  • Quotes (10)

    • Jack: (as the Jaffa attack) This is turning out to be a bad day!

    • Jack: All right, here's what we do… Bra'tac: I will lead. You will follow. Jack: Right.

    • Jack: (trying to assure Daniel that they'll make it) All right, take it easy, Daniel. We've been in worse situations than this. Teal'c: Not to my knowledge. Jack: Thanks, Teal'c.

    • Jack: Okay. Well, I suppose now is the time for me to say something profound. (pauses) Nothing comes to mind. Let's do it.

    • Jack: Were you able to put enough C4 around this ship to make a dent? Sam: We placed charges where they should generate secondary explosions. So...yes, sir. Should make a helluva dent.

    Notes (2)

    • Douglas H. Arthurs (Kah'l) would later play Heru'ur in "Thor's Chariot", "Secrets" and "The Serpent's Venom".

    • Syndication air date: September 13, 1999.

    Trivia (11)

    • The "Gou'ald Buster" warheads are 1,000 megaton warheads enriched with Naquadah, something the show has obviously made the point of being very powerful and highly explosive. Yet the explosions when they strike the Ha'tak shields are incredibly small, you'd expect a larger explosion for two 1,000 megaton bombs.

    • How did the space shuttle help get SG-1 and Bra'tac back to Earth? Without spacesuits they wouldn't have been able to board the shuttle, and it's not as if it could repair the gliders.

    • Trivia: A Goa'uld sarcophagus apparently takes only a few minutes to fix many injuries.

    • Trivia: "Goa'uld Buster" prototype weapon developed at Area 51 under Col. Samuels and Col. Maybourne, uses a Mark 12A warhead, enriched by naquadah brought back by an SG-5 mission, and yields in excess of 1000 megatons, to be launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base.

    • Trivia: The Alpha site was designated P3X-984.

    Allusions (1)

    • Jack: But I think a better idea is to get the other guys to lay down their lives for their world, first, hmm? Colonel O'Neill is loosely paraphrasing a quote from American General George Patton: "Now I want you to remember that no bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country." (circa June, 1944)
