    Notes (2)

    • This episode along with "A Little Piece Of Home", "Speed Demons" and "The Late Mr. Kent" was released on DVD as Superman: A Little Piece Of Home.

    • First appearance of Volcana.

    Allusions (2)

    • JAMES BOND During the final fight scene in the laboratory, it can't be coincidence that the man responsible for trapping Volcana is wearing a variation of Doctor No's radiation/safety suit and that the music played is almost an exact copy of the music from a majority of Bond films when Bond is usually watching the "baddies" evil setup taking place.

    • Marvel Comics This episode contained several images and concepts found within Marvel Comics. Volcana covers her body in flames to fly, just like the Human Torch. She attended a school for paranormal children run by a bald man with paranormal powers himself, which is very much like Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters in X-Men and it's founder Charles Xavier. And Volcana is captured by a man with an eye-patch who works for a shadowy government agency, much like Nick Fury of SHIELD, who's right hand man has a mustache and wears a bowler hat, just like Fury's man Dugan. The uniforms of the guards in the underground government facility are similar to the uniforms worn by AIM (Advanced Idea Mechanics) agents.
