  • Notes (10)

    • John telling the girls that Pascal was going to be alright after he passed out marks the first time a jury member talked to the remaining contestants.

    • When Jeff snuffed Paschal's torch, he said the usual line, "The tribe has spoken." However, the tribe DIDN'T speak in this case!

    • In an Entertainment Weekly interview, Host Jeff Probst rated this season as his second-to-last favorite out of the first nine seasons. He said that “Marquesas was the worst location ever. I will never go back to the Marquesas – ever” because of the sandflies and the heat. “I just felt like Marquesas never got any momentum,” he said. “And by the time you got to the final two with Neleh and Vecepia, I’m sleeping.” In the article, he also apologized for the rock tie-breaker. However, he points out that no rules were broken – “it’s just not what we meant to happen.”

    • The winner was revealed live in New York City.

    • Although, he came in fourth place, Paschal was the only contestant during this season who did not have ANY votes cast against him. Paschal is the first contestant to make the merge, not have a single vote cast against him the whole time, and not win or quit the game.

    Trivia (3)

    • This is the first time that the two finalists were never part of the same tribe during the tribal competition.

    • Four female contestants (Kathy, Tammy, Vecepia, and Neleh) had individual Immunity Challenge wins in this season, a "Survivor" series record that still stands.

    • Vecepia becomes the first "Survivor" contestant ever to win the Final 4 Immunity Challenge and go on to win the game. Kelly Wiglesworth, Colby Donaldson, and Kim Johnson had all done it previously, but each lost.
