    • Star Wars Michelangelo: A long time ago, in a back alley far, far away... The dialogue used by Michelangelo to open the episode is similar to the opening to the Star Wars movies. However, instead of a "back alley," the movies would be set in a "galaxy far, far away..." The opening dialogue is a direct reference to the Star Wars films, which fits into the character of Michelangelo as a lover of Science fiction movies.

    • The new Turtle Titan is a descendant of Silver Sentry, but has no powers. This is similar to the character of Will Stronghold from the Disney movie, "Sky High." What makes Silver Sentry's grandson different from Will Stronghold is that Will's powers kicked in during the movie.

    • Mikey: And the hero formerly known as Turtle Titan. This is a reference to Prince's decision to become The Artist Formerly Known As Prince.

    • The new Turtle titan is very similar to Batman. They both have a gadget-belt, batsignal(or turtle-signal) and a cave they use for headquarters. They also have no superpowers

    • Superman When Michelangelo tells his story in the beginning, he ends it by explaining Turtle Titan's alter ego which wears a suit, glasses, and hat. This is a reference to Superman's mild-mannered alter ego reporter, Clark Kent. Among the many Superman cartoons, the first was the legendary Fleischer Superman cartoons made between 1941 and 1943.
