    • Drako: Behold the Battle Nexus, the ultimate arena, where warriors from many dimensions come to compete against each other. I, too, spent my youth in such foolish pursuits. I was known and feared throughout the multiverse until I lost to a rat. Now the rat and his brood have returned, interrupting my schemes for power, but offering opportunities for revenge. Now, while I plot to seize control of the Battle Nexus, my pawn, the Daimyo's son, has poisoned the one called Leonardo. The rat rots in the dungeon, framed for attempting to assassinate the Daimyo. And despite the heroic efforts of the samurai rabbit and the turtle ninja, the Daimyo will soon be dispatched and the power of the Battle Nexus will be mine.

    • (When they're back home) Donny: Was it all a dream? Did it really happen? Mikey: Oh it happened, and I got the proof. See here's my championship trophy! Not you, but me, me, not you. Raph: You only won on a technicality! Mikey: Um, technicaly, I kicked your but in one of the bouts remember? (Raph is about to hit Mikey) Master Splinter: Yes, it is good to be home!

    • Mikey: (inadvertantly knocking his opponent out) Um...are we supposed to be fighting now?

    Notes (5)

    • Villains: Ultimate Ninja, Drako, and the Ultimate Ninja's assassins

    • Prologue Narrator: Drako

    • Usagi is the third person to fight using Don's bo staff, the first person being Shredder in Shredder Strikes Back, Part Two, and the second person being Leo in What a Croc.

    • Here is how each combatant was elimanated in the Battle Nexus Tournament: Leonardo: Poisoned by the Ultimate Ninja. Donatello: Lost to another contestant in the tournament. Raphael: Tried charging into Mikey but Mikey moved out of the way at the last second and thus, Raph charged into the wall instead. Splinter: Forfeited to Mikey so he would have a shot at winning the tournament. Usagi: Diqualified himself to accompany Leo in the healer's pavilion and to help Don fight the ninja assasins. Gennosuke: Lost to Kluh in the semifinals. Kluh: Knocked unconscious by Mikey's nunchucks after the Damiyo sealed Drako's rift. Traximus: Defeated by Raphael in the second round of the finals.

    Trivia (4)

    • In season 1 episode 4, Meet Casey Jones, the episode begins with Mikey and Raph sparring. Mikey is seen having the upper hand until Raph losses control of his temper. This reflects the idea that Mikey does have the skill to challenge Raph.

    • Of the contestants, Leonardo is the only one who did not have a fair shot at winning the Battle Nexus championship, something no-one, including Leo, ever mentions. Usagi's chance was also ruined since the Gyoji implied that he might have been the one to unfairly injure Leo, thus disqualifying him. We don't know what would have happened if either of these two had had a fair chance to win.

    • Mikey may not have literally kicked Raph's butt, but he did it figuratively by knowing his brother well enough to know that if he egged on Raph, he would basically defeat himself, saving Mikey the trouble.

    • At the end when the turtles and Master Splinter are back in the lair, Raph tells Mikey that he only won the championship on a technicality and Mikey says "Technically, I kicked your butt in one of the bouts remember?" Here's the goof: Even though Mikey triumphed over Raph, he never kicked Raph's butt.
