  • More chibi turtles! A very amusing episode.

  • April gets angry when Casey "tests" her ninjitsu skills w/out her knowledge and asks the turtles to help teach her. They refuse and when April asks why, they recount a tale of their younger days when they'd tried to take a student under wing...

  • Trivia & Quotes

    • Young Casey: (throws chess pieces at the bullies and misses) Bullies:(beat up Casey) Young Raph: I think I need to work on the kid's aim a little. Or find him a diffrent weapon.

    • Young Casey: (After defeating the bullies) That's right! You better run! You bullies better watch it cause Arnold Casey Jones ain't lettin' you push nobody around no more! Gora....Gora......GOONGALA! GOONGALA!

    • Young Mikey: (imitating Master Splinter) The foundation of a house must start strong and..... AHHH!!!!! (Young turtles see Master Splinter) Young turtles: Master Splinter!

    • Raph: (dripping wet) I just got out of the shower sensei. Splinter: I can see that. Do you always shower with your mask on? Raph: Uh, yeah. It's a...great way to keep it clean.

    • Splinter: You must never go topside! it is very dangerous! If you ever think of going topside, think of something else! April: So what did you do? Don: We went topside.

    Notes (4)

    • Raphael's teaching technique was to try to find the young Casey Jones the right weapon. Casey later got his weapon of choice from one of the bullies, and thus began his use of a hockey stick as his favorite personal weapon.

    • Prologue Narrator: Donatello

    • The younger Turtles was teaching a younger Casey Jones, but they don't know it. At the end, it was revealed that it is Casey Jones because he can't remember the battle cry Mikey taught him, so he made up his own, the battle cry he still uses.

    • The younger days of the Turtles are revisited once more, the first being in the episode "Tales of Leo"

    Trivia (3)

    • The book the bullies take from Casey's friend is a copy of The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien.

    • How come the Young Casey Jones wasn't the least bit freaked out about his tutors having green skin and only 3 fingers on each hand?

    • Here is a color goof: When the guys are drinking hot chocolate, we see that Don is sitting to Leonardo's left, while Raph is on his right. However, when Leo starts speaking about being "aware of their surroundings," Donnie moves. If you look closely, you can see that his mask is mistakenly colored red, and there appears to be two Raph's. After toddler Leo gets back from training little Casey, Splinter calls him to come train. As Leo is walking in front of Don and Mike, Splinter follows him. But, for some reason, the sensei's tail is missing from the shot. What happened to Master Splinter's tail? It was there in the shot just before.

    Allusions (1)

    • This episode is similar to The Simpsons episode "The Way We Weren't" where Homer and Marge found out that they actually met when they were kids instead of in High School.
