  • Quotes (13)

    • Sarah: (voice-over) When John was little, before bed, I used to read him fairy tales. One night I read him a folktale called The Golem of Prague. The story of a clay monster made by a rabbi to protect the Jews of the city. What I failed to remember, was that at the end of the story the Golem turns on its maker and kills him as well as the rest of the town. He didn't sleep for months. I went to him and tried to tell him it wasn't real, that I'd made it all up. Somehow that made it all worse.

    • John: I try not to make plans. Plans are for people in control of their own lives.

    • (Cameron knocks out a presumed terminator just as he's about to shoot Sarah.)
Cameron: (checks for a pulse) He'll survive.
      Sarah: He's human.
Cameron: Not a very strong one.

    • Sarah: Does Cromartie have men working with him? Does that happen? Cameron: You work with me.

    • John: That's coltan. If that's what you're made of, no wonder you're so dense.
(He shares a grin with Sarah.)
Cameron: (not getting the joke) Not density. Heat resistance. T-600 models had a titanium alloy endoskeleton, but it was vulnerable to heat. Coltan alloys have a much higher melting point.
Sarah: You know what I love about you guys? Even when you've evolved into the ultimate indestructible killing machine, you're not above self-examination and improvement.
      Cameron: Thank you.
      Sarah: Please shut up.

    Notes (5)

    • Brian Bloom, the Terminator in this episode, appeared in a 1989 episode of Beauty and the Beast, a series starring former "Sarah Connor" portrayer Linda Hamilton. Incidentally, his character on that episode was named "Cameron," and in this series, the Terminator that he is battling against is named Cameron.

    • Series star Summer Glau and recurring star Garrett Dillahunt both played recurring characters on the series The 4400.

    • Star Richard T. Jones (Agent James Ellison) and recurring guest star Garret Dillahunt (George Laszlo/Cromartie) were given "And" billing for their appearances.

    • Crew Additions and Clarifications: Josh Friedman (Developed for Television by), Jill Danton (Produced by), James Cameron (Based on Characters Created by), Gale Anne Hurd (Based on Characters Created by), Zane/Pillsbury (Casting by), Robert Hall (Special Make-Up Effects Created by), Almost Human Inc. Trivia (3)

    • Nitpick: The terminator in this episode showed his badge to a guard that let him into Depot 37. It wasn't shown however, how Sarah and Cameron made it inside the facility, or how they got out.

    • Nitpick: As Sarah and Cameron enter the bunker, John tries, unsuccessfully, to drive the truck while Cameron battles the other terminator. Sarah sits in the passenger seat and talks to him while he tries repeatedly to get the truck in gear. Considering the urgency of the situation, especially in the presence of a hostile terminator, Sarah should have made John move over and driven the truck herself, and not decide to take the time to give John a driver's lesson.

    • Goof: When John attempts to drive the truck the terminator stops the truck and actually manages to push it back a few feet. This is impossible. No matter how strong he is, the terminator simply does not have the mass to do this. His weight and the traction of his boots cannot match the weight of the truck and the traction provided by the truck tires.

    Allusions (2)

    • Coltan: "Coltan" is the name of the dull black, metallic ore columbite-tantalite, used to produce the elements niobium and tantalum. Coltan is the ore used to refine tantalum, which is used in consumer electronics products such as cell phones, DVD players, computers, and games consoles. Tantalum's melting point of 3017 °C (boiling point 5458 °C) is exceeded only by the metals tungsten and rhenium.

    • Agent Stewart: Actually, Jim-
      Ellison: James, not Jim, James.
Agent James Ellison's correction of Agent Stewart is a tip of the hat to Terminator 1 and 2 filmmaker, James Cameron.
