  • Quotes (10)

    • Nanobot 1: What's it like in your little 'dream world'? Nanobot 2: A little humid...

    • (After the Nanobots sample the school's lunch) Nanobot 1: Error! Error! Detecting tasteless chipped beef special. Nanobot 2: The beef-to-chip ratio is way off. Adding steak sauce. Nanobot 1: Steak sauce? Spicy mustard is the way to go. Nanobot 2: Oh, really, Wolfgang? Why don't we just throw in an old shoe? (The module throws a shoe into the pot) Gretchen: But I already made shoe twice this week!

    • Hugh: Not a soul on the entire block! ... Maybe they got together and formed an angry mob! (yelling) Wait up, everybody, I wanna be in the mob, too!

    • Nanobot 1: We must follow the Creator and await our chance to correct for error. Nanobot 2: And then he'll love me again! Nanobot 1: (tiredly) Oh, what is it like in your little dream world? Nanobot 2: A little humid.

    • Nanobot 2: Ohh, if I had the old module back, I'd correct for error like no one's ever corrected for error before! Then the Creator will be pleased with me. Nanobot 1: I have it! I'll use the old module to correct for error. Then the Creator will be please with me! Nanobot 2: Hey! You stole my idea! Nanobot 1: I used your idea as a springboard. Nanobot 2: You stole my springboard.

    Trivia (16)

    • We see Jimmy, Carl, and Sheen in Jimmy's lab, and on the monitor it says it is scanning for life forms. The scanner goes over North America but nothing shows. Wouldn't Hugh be detected since he was never atomized? Not to mention Jimmy, Carl, and Sheen themselves.

    • If the nanobots could just atomise the lab doors, why did they need Carl to open the doors for them to enter?

    • Betty Quinlan had a cameo appearance in the halls of Lindbergh Elementary before she got "corrected" by the Nanobots, marking her fourth appearance.

    • Second appearance of Goddard's Flycycle.

    • A rare occurrance happens in the episode: Hugh calls Judy by her real name.

    Allusions (11)

    • Jimmy's Poem: Cindy sings the body electric...

I Sing the Body Electric is a poem by the great American poet Walt Whitman that appears in his most famous collection Leaves of Green. It was also later used by science fiction writer Ray Bradbury for the title of an episode of the Twilight Zone, and later again as the title of a collection of short stories.

    • Nanobot 2: Julio Iglesias! Nanobot 2 mentioned Julio Iglesias, who is the father of Enrique Iglesias. They are both Hispanic pop stars who have had successful careers in the United States.

    • Hugh: My own personal time, my piece of the sky, my secret garden! This could be a reference to two famous books "A Piece of the Sky", and "The Secret Garden." "A Piece of the Sky" is a modern autobiographical classic by Robert Newton Peck that tells of his running the family farm after his father's death. "The Secret Garden" is a famed children's book by Frances Hodgson Burnett about a girl named Mary and her discovery of a secret garden in a gloomy manor.

    • Music: "Powerhouse" The music that plays when the Nanobots go around deleting Retroville is a spoof of the old Raymond Scott "Powerhouse" music used on countless Looney Tunes cartoons.

    • Jimmy: (making the nanobots find the exact value of pi)
When Jimmy asks the nanobots to check his homework one last time, causing them to self-destruct by making them find the exact value of pi, which is relative and therefore infinite, he employs the same tactic that Mr. Spock used in Star Trek episode 43 "A Wolf In The Fold" to shut down the Enterprise's computers that had become the host of a malign alien intelligence.
