  • Opie has his heart set on winning a medal in a foot race at the town picnic. When he loses, he exhibits poor sportmanship. Andy teaches him a lesson about being a good sport.

    • (Barney's ranting because he was turned down for a raise. Andy starts to leave.) Barney: Where are you going? Andy: I'm leaving. For a mature human being, you're a sight!

    • (Opie signs up for the race, Barney tells Opie he won a medal when he was young) Opie: You trained and won your self a medal? Barney: That's right, I trained... trained real hard 'til I was just one big muscle from the tip of my toes to the top of my head. Opie: Boy. Would you show me how to train, Barney? Barney: Why I sure would. And I don't mind telling, you've come to the right place, too. Opie: You mean you're gonna make me one big muscle, too? Barney: Yeah. Andy: 'Cept in your case, we'll try to stop at the neck. Barney: That's very comical, Andy. Only comicalness don't win no medals.
