    • Aunt Bee tells Dr. St. John that she came to live with Andy and Opie in 1959. This is a reference back to the first episode of the series, which aired in 1960, not 1959.

    • While on her date, Aunt Bee asks Mr. St. John what he thinks about the "situation" in Asia. Despite the fact that the series takes place entirely during the 1960's this is the closest the show ever comes to even mentioning the Vietnam War. This was actually very much in tune with the idea that Mayberry was place almost unaffected by the problems of the outside world. None of the events of the turbulent 1960's (Vietnam, civil rights, etc) have much if any affect on life in Mayberry.
