    • [Barney is worried that Luke Comstock is coming to gun down Andy] Barney: Let me deputize some of the boys and give you some protection. Andy: No! Barney: Then wear a gun. Andy: No! [phone rings; Andy answers] Hello, sheriff's office. [listens] Oh, yes, Miss Peterson... Aw. Well, I'll take care of it right away... yes, ma'am. Bye. [Hangs up] Miss Peterson's Fluffy's on the roof again. Barney: This is a time for pussycats? With a killer on the loose? Andy: Well, Fluffy's got kittens... and you know how you feel, seein' your mother on the roof. [starts to leave the office] Barney: Andy... [hands him his gun] Take this; put it under your shirt. Andy: I won't need it, Barn. Fluffy and I've been friends for years. Barney: O.K. but if you get all shot up I don't even what to even want to hear about it.

    Notes (1)

    • This episode is the first of the public domain episodes. The last 16 episodes of season three have become part of the public domain due to a clerical error back in the 1960's and are thus widely available in different formats and different conditions. The theme song however is still copywritten material and can only be used with permission. Therefore, most public domain copies have different music during the opening and closing credits.

    Trivia (1)

    • Continuity: When Andy is waiting on Luke Comstock to come to his house the dishes are still on the table from supper, then later the table is cleared.
