  • Notes (2)

    • Frank Cady (perhaps better known as Mr. Drucker from Green Acres, Petticoat Junction, and The Beverly Hillbillies) appears as a drunk in the Mt. Pilot drunk tank. Cady was actually Mayberry's first full time town drunk - he played Will Hoople, an early manifestation of Otis, in the pilot episode.

    • In this episode, Otis laments that he's never been arrested in his life. Actually, Otis was arrested on at least three occasions: he was arrested for hitting his mother-in-law in the mouth with a leg of lamb (Ellie for Town Council) and for being drunk when he wasn't (Andy Saves Barney's Morale). He was also arrested for being drunk at a meeting of the garden club in the 1950's (his first arrest).

    Trivia (1)

    • This episode features the one and only time both courthouse doors are opened.
